With Will being about as Idaho as you can get, we thought he'd be a natural for some baked potatoes with us the other night....we were wrong! He did his dramatic little gagging thing that he is so good at when trying new foods. Since I've read it can take kids many times to accept a new food I came back at him for round 2. Well, this time the gagging was the most dramatic thing ever and as we were chuckling at Will's antics, he vomitted potato all over. I guess he won't be in the pagent for Mr. Idaho anytime soon!
This week we've been enjoying beautiful weather and planting some flowers. Grace is a great helper. She was of course the most interested in helping with the planter by the front door so it looks a little lopsided but she is so proud everyone will see the flowers she planted every time they walk by our house.
Pictures of our Memorial day are truly coming soon!!!!

The Adventures of Will
We took Will to Yellowstone for his first glimpse of some bison. He screamed the entire way there and the entire way back ( 2 1/2 hours one way). Each time we stopped the car to check on him, he stopped crying and would smile as I openned the back door...the little stinker! After our day of hiking (during which he was being held the entire time and therefore happy!), he screamed at the top of his lungs for about 40 minutes while we were driving out of the Park. I was convinced he had an ear infection and made Brad stop at the local grocery to buy some tylenol for the poor guy. It was the last bottle and I had to make a withdraw from Will's college fund to pay for such an item at the resort towns only grocery (call the attorney general over the price gouging!!!) I dosed him up and was just feeling terrible about his pain the entire three hour drive home. There was really no where to stop and we really just wanted to get him home.
Well, the second (I mean, the absolute second) we exited off the interstate he stopped crying. When we got home, he was happy as a lark. He had fun in the bath and went straight to bed...no screaming.
NOTE TO ALL PARENTS: TYLENOL DOES NOT RELIEVE PAIN FROM SEPARATION ANXIETY
More about our hiking adventures and a few pictures to follow soon!

Grace's 1st Recital
Grace had her first dance recital last week. Brad & I were both about in tears watching our "baby" girl dancing up on the big stage. She did such a good job and just loves her dance class! Jacob, Henry, and Kim drove up for the event and stayed for a couple of days to hang out. That meant a lot to all of us for them to make the trip.
This weekend also marked Grace's last soccer game....she rarely kicked the ball but she LOVES soccer! Go figure... She is so sad the season is over.
Over the weekend we went to the firestation open house...it was pretty cool although Grace has informed me I cannot be a firewoman because I did not do a very good job holding the hose (it is a LOT harder than it looks! kudos to all firefighters!!!)
Will has turned into a wild little man!! He is rolling like crazy and during the cousins visit, he would add his voice to the roar of kids voices. He liked the action! Will is a strong little guy and holding him during one of his long spurts of energy can be a bit exhausting!

Long time!
I've been meaning to get on the computer for days now and it just keeps not happening. I was hoping to have photos downloading to ad as well, but that hasn't happened either. Soon though as Grace will be having her first dance recital this week....so I am sure there will be a ton of pictures of that event! She is so excited!!! This week we have two rehearsals with the "big dancers" and then a dress rehearsal before the big show!!! Needless to say, we are busy running her back and forth between the studio and all her other activities. She is loving it though as she loves to be busy! She wears me out!
Will is making a lot of advancements these days as well. Still not so thrilled with food but he has decided he likes to put the finger foods in his mouth and then spit them out. Quit exciting stuff! He is also starting to pull his legs up underneath him....still not close to crawling by any means but he is making steps in that direction. He has also been sleeping longer stretches at night (FINALLY) but not too consistently...anything longer than 4 hours is good though and I will take what I can get! Will continues to be a rolling machine and he can get to pretty much anything he wants. He has been repeatedly rolling into the rocks around teh fireplace and getting stuck--he then slides his head down the rocks while screaming. He has a few nice scratch marks from these escapades.
I'll post more soon as we have some fun photos I want to share!

Mama!!! Mama!!!
Grace was playing outside this afternoon when she came flying across the yard yelling "mama, mama, mama, mama" in this shrieking voice. Oh man, I thought, she saw a snake. I was heading inside pretty quickly. She came running over and grabbed my legs...."look mama, we have more flowers!!!" She was so excited to have found our irises are opening up, one by one. "does this mean it is finally summer?" she asked. "soon," i told her....we are all ready for some constant sunshine around here!!
A warning from our house as well...if you call and Grace answers the phone, you will probably need to ask to talk to one of her parents. Today, Megan called and Grace answered the phone. I heard the phone ring but I didn't really hear Grace asnwer it. About 5 minutes later, Grace brought me the phone....she had just been talking off Megan's ear. The other night she pulled this stunt on a telemarketer...we did not intercede on behalf of the poor caller and after a while, they finally hung! A bit of their own medicine I guess!

Will has decided he does not like any food...no avacados, no sweet potatoes, absolutely no fruit, and ofcourse, no peas! Not sure what is up with the little guy!!!! He is such a good eater when he puts his mind to it. He barely even makes a mess...a man after my own heart!
Grace tried on her little dance costume the other day...she is a daisy. We don't have her tap outfit yet, that should come next week. It is very cute. The little girls were so excited to try on their costumes!!! The down side...I'm supposed to sew the straps on. Ok, so she may look a little freaky after I get done sewing satin onto spandex. I can handle cotton and flannel but these fabrics seem a little bit out of my league. HELP MOM!!!! Her dance recital is in two weeks. Grace is SO excited about her recital...I'm looking forward to seeing her preform. Since she dances on the soccer field, I'm wondering if she will play soccer on the stage....I'm sure watching a bunch of three year olds on stage is going to be cute/hilarious! We'll be sure to have the cameras rolling!
