Grant

Doesn't he just have the sweetest little face? Grant is such a blessing to our family. He laughs and smiles all the time. He loves the bjorn which gives him a front row seat to the world. And he is particularly fascinated with all the action around our house. He rolls both ways, coos, and is constantly putting his feet in his mouth. He also is used to having someone pay attention to him 110% of the time and will cry out until someone comes to his rescue. In classic me style, I hold him pretty much all the time. And he rewards me with open mouth kisses and neck gripping hugs!

Growing Up

Grace is growing up way too fast. She seems so mature lately. And she is really a good kid. We're so proud of her and enjoy spending time with her. Last week, my baby lost her first tooth. I think if we hadn't been at the library when it happened, I would have cried. She was so excited and there I was tearing up and getting emotional. An all to knowing mother patted me on the back in complete understanding while I was pulling it together. Now, her sweet little smile looks so different. I knew the tooth was about to come out so I took some before pictures before we had gone to the library...I never imagined it was going to come out while we were there! You can just see how excited she is showing off her new smile. And ofcourse Will was very impressed with the entire event.

Hogle Zoo

Before heading home, we made a stop at the Hogle Zoo in SLC. It's such a great zoo and we always enjoy our time there. Will hasn't been since he has been old enough to remember and he LOVED seeing the elephants, giraffes, zebras, and various monkeys. The wolf was acting particularly crazy on this brisk morning and that was a pretty special treat for everyone. In fact, the cool weather made for many alert animals. Will just kept looking at all the animals with very wide eyes. It was like all the books he has read about animals were coming to life before his eyes. Will is also a bit obsessed with anything having wheels so we went on a little train ride around the zoo. Grant even joined in the fun and Grace was just as excited as the boys.

Getting back to normal

So it's been a long time again....we are finally getting back to a normal routine after having a crazy month of March filled with fun visitors and then a trip to SLC to meet up with Brad's brother and family during their kids' spring break. They were gracious enough to invite us to stay with them in a great condo up Little Cottonwood Canyon. Grandma Sue requested a picture of all the kids....this is the best we got...they had to stop playing for about 2 1/3 minutes to attempt to get this picture and no one was thrilled about this. Grace and Henry again played together so well....they truly love each other and it is very cute to watch them. I hope they alway have as special of a relationship as they do now. What was funny to watch unfold was Will and Nathan's friendship. They are both old enough now to be interested in each other. After the last several years of Grace and Henry getting along so well and playing so nicely I thought I had escaped the karma of bad cousin tricks that is so coming to me (for those of you who do not know what I am referring to...I have a cousin named Jenny...we should both live in fear for we created much trouble together...). Well, I think my days of relaxing and talking to the adults while the kids play in the basement are over. Will and Nathan just look at each other with twinkle's in their eyes. When one does something naughty, the other one pretty much copies. Then they would laugh.....

While in SLC, Will was a lucky guy and got to snuggle with his dad while the 2G's and I stayed in another room. One night, Brad couldn't find W. After turning on the light....in case you cannot see him, he is half-way under the bed. It took Brad a few moments to find him even after turning on the light.

In Like a Lion.....

March has brought us many fun visitors....we started off with a long weekend visit from Grandma Sue and cousin Henry. Grace and Henry played so well together and we actually barely saw them as they imagined the hours away in the basement. Will really wanted to tag along but was not always welcome in the big five year old games. Grant loved having an extra set of hands to hold him and his Grandma Sue was happy to oblige.

Then, our friend Hege and two of her friends stopped by and we had a great time catching up and talking late into the night. I cannot wait to visit her in Norway....hopefully sooner rather than later!

Our next visitor was our friend Jessica and her little girl, Tessa. The kids again had so much fun running around and playing with each other. Jess and I always have so much to talk about and the time always seems to go way too fast. What a cute group of kids!

Ski Buddies

Grace & Brad have been skiing quite a lot this winter. Grace loves to turn while skiing which allows her to ski some of the more difficult runs. The boys and I went up for a little bit one afternoon to watch her ski the bunny hill at our local ski mountain.

Birthday Girl

This year we celebrated my birthday with a little outing to the Simplot games and lunch at Ruby Tuesday's. I think the best present of the day was the kids behavior during our meal out. Grace and Will were total angels and Grant slept through the whole meal. It was incredibly relaxing and enjoyable plus the food was super yummy!

Happy Valentine's Day

The kids and I had planned our own little V-day celebration that included a heart shaped pizza but due to an unexpected change of plans, Brad was able to be home. My movie selection of "Boys Don't Cry" for our little date night was not very lovey-dovey but it was an interesting movie.
