Our Moment in Time

Our local newspaper did a short story on our family. After you click on the link, the picture and story is on page 4 & 5. Grace thought it was pretty cool to be interviewed and Grace and Will were excited to see their picture in the paper. But better than anything for Grace, was having people tell her they saw her in the paper!

While your checking out our story, read the story titled "Bringing Home Madeline" about our friend's Kevin and Jenny's journey to meet their little girl whom they recently brought home from China.

Watching History

Today we had on the Inaguration events. On our way out the door, I set Grant in front of the tv while I went to get Will's shoes. I came back to find them all intrigued by all the action on tv (or maybe this is just a testament to how little the tv is really on during the day and they were all in shock!) Through it all, Grace was quite the commentator (this could be a career for her...she had something to say for everything!) Thought I'd share some of her insights:

When Grant was crying during the beginning of the event she told him "Grant, even if you didn't vote for Barack Obama, he is still your president."

In the background, we could hear a choir singing "this little light of mine" and Grace wondered if they were going to sing "don't let satan blow it out."

"Barack Obama is new at ruling his kingdom so he might make some mistakes."

"Why isn't she (Michelle Obama) wearing a scarf?" We decided it was because she wanted everyone to see her sparkly dress.

"Where is Sarah Palin?"

"Why is the White House white?"

"Sasha is the same name as the Princess from Princess-opoly."
"OK, I've had enough history, can I watch "Tigger and Pooh"?"

We also talked about white skin vs. brown skin and that Obama was our first black president. She said she has friends with all different kinds of colors of skin and hair. And she thinks it's nice to have all types of colors in her life...if things were only this simple.

Grant

Grant is such a fun little guy to be around. We are all enjoying him so much! He wakes up so happy and smiley and puts puts a smile on all our faces as well. He makes the cutest squeals and little laughs now and loves it when someone is paying attention to him. Lucky for him, his Big Sis and Bro are happy to oblige him!!

Silly Willie

Will is generally a kid who 95% of the time does not like messes...he picks up dirty laundry and puts in into the hamper, he is not a big fan of getting his hands icky and he is actually pretty decent at helping put his toys away. So, we are not sure what has gotten into him but he is totally serious about it during the process!!!

(Grace is singing in the background for snow...we got about 10 inches the next day...if you would like to utilize her services, let us know. And notice Olivia's black snout in the corner...she is ready to lick off the bean covered boy if we'd only let her!)

Then a few days later we had this episode....

I'm sure all of us laughing at him in the background does not make him want to stop. It is just pretty funny and even I, the self-proclaimed "no mess person" is coming to find out that there really is not much that will not wash off with a good bath and there is not much damage he can do when strapped into his booster seat. And seriously, kudos to Crayola...when they say "washable" they really mean it!!!!
