July

The month of July has gone by so quickly...we've been super busy with visitors and other activities so in the spirit of keeping a log of our life, here is a quick update.
We started off the month with a visit from our friend's Kyle, Janelle, Cade, & Morgan. We had such a great time and our kids had SO much fun playing with the kids. None of had really thought about the potential for friendship between Grace and Morgan because she was just a tiny baby when they moved. But they clicked and had so much fun. Cade was of course his sweet self and we had fun getting to know the vivacious girl Morgan has become! I'm not sure who talks more...Grace or Morgan!

The next weekend we were off for our annual camping trip to Redfish Lake outside of Stanley, Idaho. The scenery was breathtaking as always and we had a great time hiking, swimming, and sitting in hot pools with the kids. I could just write and write about the fun things we did during our long weekend. The kids are both at such fun ages.

We again had visitors the next weekend as Brad's cousin, Kristi, and her family made the long trek to spend a few days with us in route (well, not really in route but as a part of their journey) to a camp in Wyoming. Grace had a great time playing with her cousins and is just in heaven any time there are other kids to run around with. She has a lot of enthusiasm in the socializing department.

We also had VBS at church last week which was a lot of fun. Both of the kids had a good time even though Will was quit distracting as I was trying to teach my lesson. Thank goodness for friends who helped me out and kept him busy during my "science" experiments (hey, no comments on me teaching young minds about science...there was a lesson plan given to me!)

This week-end we spent getting caught up on all the things we have neglected during the month because we've been so busy....but there was still time for a hike and a trip to the waterpark. There never seems to be a dull moment around here. And of course, there is always a lot of time for dressing up and acting crazy.

Grace-isms

Grace has been pretty full of funny things lately. She is Miss Literal to the max.

Story #1

as relayed to me by a friend:

friend:Grace do not get paint all over you or your mom is going to have a cow!

Grace: No she's not, she is going to have a baby!

Story #2

Grace is reading quite a lot . At first we weren't sure if it was just all stuff she had memorized or if she was really reading, but it seems to be for real. It's pretty amazing to hear her blurt out random things. She will sit and read books for long periods of time sounding out words she is unsure of. So, lately, she keeps bringing home these fliers from the neighbors house that is for sale. I keep telling her to stop bringing home the fliers. Today we were going to get the mail and she goes to grab another one.

Me: Grace, stop taking the fliers. Those are for people that want to buy the house.

Grace: But the sign says "TAKE ONE PLEASE"

OK, so she wins.

Another funny Grace story....we are having VBS at church this week. Grace is having a blast, of course, and is showing off her ability to talk non-stop for hours at a time. Tonight in her "prayer pail" she had them write her prayer of "I hope our new baby is a girl."
