Day trippers

This week-end we headed up to Yellowstone as we had not made it up that way yet. We've just been so busy here in the summer as there are so many things to do and we've had a so many wonderful visits from family and friends. During our day in the park, our wildlife sightings were way down as we saw zero buffalo, which is a first for us, but we saw three elk and a chipmunk (Grace insists we include the chipmunk on the list of animals!). Two of the elk were very large males which was pretty cool. One of the elk was HUGE and there was a park ranger assigned to him as he (the elk) has a reported bad attitude. The ranger said his job was to "protect people from themselves." We saw some of the people he was talking about...getting a bit too close for comfort.
On the way home we decided to swing by Mesa Falls, which was amazing. I took a lame little video of it but it is not from the breathtaking angle. I am not scared of heights but they way they had the walkway and you stood so close to the falls kind of out over the river with the LOUD sound of rushing water it was a weird sensation. Check out the picture of the family by the falls....Brad looks a bit nervous and is gripping onto Will...seriously, it was a weird sensation standing above the waterfall!
