There must be something in the water......

.....because for such a small town, we sure have a lot of good dancers around here.  It started back in the fall 2009 with The Fab Five.  They were on "America's Got Talent" and they were always announced as being from their home town in Utah but in reality, one of the five sisters is our neighbor and her little boy was in G1's kindergarten class.  During the school year, The Fab Five came to G1's school and performed the dance pictured below (which was pretty darn awesome) along with many other pieces.  They "power tap" or clog, I'm not exactly sure what the official name of their type of dance is, but it is loud and fun to watch. They made it to the finals in the competition but didn't win.   We aren't really into this show but since it was our neighbor and G1's friend at school, we made sure to watch each week.

Shortly after that, the first ever married couple, Ryan & Ashleigh, made it to the top 20 on "So you Think You Can Dance" (or some fact like this--on this show it is an individual competition so the fact that two of the individual dancers were married was kind of unique).  Ryan is from our town and randomly he attended the same elementary school as G1 when he was a primary student. Again, we don't watch this show and we didn't get too into it but the local media followed the show closely and there were "watch" parties and such and it was interesting to hear how they were doing.

Once again, there is a contestant from our town on "So you Think you Can Dance."   But this time, it is a girl from G1's dance studio and she has taught G1 over the past 4 1/2 years on many occasions.  Chyna is truly an amazing dancer.  It was pretty exciting last week when she made it to the Las Vegas portion of the competition and for sure we will be watching tomorrow night to see how she does (Wednesday on Fox 8/7c).  She will also be performing this week-end at G1's dance recital and performance and I'm sure that it will be a very big deal for a lot of girls who dance at the studio.  GO CHYNA!!!!
