Fun Run



In our matching race provided t-shirts. 

 After watching me do fun runs and races over the past couple years, G1 asked if there was a chance she could run in a race with me. I was so excited to take my girl out for a run!  I was so proud of G1 because I could tell she really wanted to stop but she persevered and only took two very short walking breaks near the end of the race.

any "practice" besides dance, soccer, and the normal running around kids do.

A big highlight of the fun run we signed up for is the raffle drawing.  They give away big things like bikes (really nice bikes), Thule roof racks, iPod touch, iPod nanos, as well as simpler things like water bottles, hats, and socks (but even this stuff is always really high end and pretty nice--our friend won a $150 pair of sunglasses a couple of months ago). Well, G1 was getting a little bit bored of sitting and waiting for the raffle and even though we were pressed on time, I made her stay "just in case" either of us won something.  I'm traditionally not lucky but apparently G1 is.  The announcer went on and on about how great this specific prize was---a pair of custom shoe inserts that are formulated to your foot and heated by some special process.  He said whoever the winner was should really give them a try and not just return them because they are incredible.  Well,  here is the 7 year old with her $160 pair of shoe inserts.  That smile is not really one of excitement.  It is her laughing because she keeps saying "shoe inserts?  i wanna iPod touch!!!"  Lucky for her (and maybe, if I can convince her to share, lucky for me) she does have the option to return her shoe inserts to the store in exchange for something else.  I think she has her eye on some Under Armor gear and ski equipment.
