Spring Break, part 2

For the last part of our spring break, we headed up to a state park with some friends, cross country skied in approximately one mile to a cabin, and spent the weekend hanging out, playing in the snow, and doing more cross country skiing. B pulled a sled with the boys plus a TON of food and supplies PLUS wore a hiking back pack with all of our clothes while skiing. He is basically amazing. What was I doing you may be thinking? Well, I was helping G1 cross country ski. She had never been before and when she didn't pick it up immediately we saw a little, um, attitude which required a full time parent. Thankfully once she calmed down and relaxed she got into the rhythm and enjoyed nordic skiing! We spent the weekend with our friends and we had such a great time. The scenery was absolutely beautiful and the atmosphere was so peaceful. We were in the rural part of rural if you can imagine that. With snow drifts larger than I had ever seen. Breathtaking. We enjoyed the second night at the cabin even better when the park ranger came by and lit the furnance for us....
Channelling Elton John

Check out the snow drifts in the background...they are almost to the roof! We could climb onto the roofs of the buildings the snow was so incredibly deep!

The Kiddos

Notice how the boys are attached to B's waist.  He carried two boys plus all of our food and supplies for the weekend in to our cabin this way.  Can you say workout?

The awesomely big and deep hole that I (mostly) built into a HUGE snow drifts for the kids.
